What Dockside keeps

A plain statement, because you are trusting us with a holiday.

Our promise

Your Set Sail Guide lives on your phone. Not on our servers.

Dockside never stores anything that could be matched to a ship's passenger manifest. Your name, your documents, your photos, your parking spot — they are kept on your phone. Your Set Sail Guide card shows the teams at the curb you are ready; it is not a lookup key, and there is no record of you on Dockside to look up, lose or hand over.

On your phone only

  • First name and last initial
  • Ship, sailing date, terminal
  • Which documents you ticked
  • Your document, bag and parking photos
  • Your Set Sail Guide card
  • Which topics you have looked at (like parking or food), so the sponsored card fits you

Never on Dockside servers

  • Full booking or reservation numbers
  • Cabin numbers
  • Full names tied to a sailing
  • Passport or ID details
  • Any passenger list or manifest
  • Your photos

When you finish a Set Sail Guide, Dockside records one tick for your terminal and sailing date — ship, date, pier, and which boxes were checked. No name, no initial, no digits. The port uses the total to see how many guests arrived prepared. It cannot be traced back to you.

The seven optional questions on your Set Sail Guide card — where you travel from, how you got here, party size, how often you cruise — and which way you parked are counted without your name or anything that identifies you. They help the port plan traffic, parking and the terminal.

Dockside may share these as totals with partners — "40% of guests stayed in a Galveston hotel the night before" — never one person's answers, and never a number small enough to point at a family. Skip any question, or all of them.

A free Dockside account lets you keep things for next time: your family's first names and their Trip lists, saved porters, and your parking spot. That is your saved data, visible only to you, and it is still not a manifest: first names and packing lists cannot be matched to a passenger record. You can delete any of it, or the whole account, whenever you like.

Trip lists you share by link are readable by whoever holds the link — that is the point of sharing them — and hold only first names and checklists.

Dockside is an independent tool built by the people who work the Port of Galveston's cruise terminals every sailing day. We are not the cruise line, the terminal operator or the port authority, and we do not want their data. A Set Sail Guide card that shows you did the prep gets you to the screening table faster, without anyone building a second passenger list. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
