By using Dockside you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
What Dockside is
Dockside is a working aid for cruise terminal porters. It provides luggage sorting
tools, ship reference information, and a messaging feature called Connect.
Dockside is not an official document.
Sorting information is transcribed from printed terminal display boards and may be
out of date or wrong. Always check against the board and follow your terminal's current
instructions and your supervisor's direction. Dockside is independent and is not
affiliated with or endorsed by any cruise line, terminal operator, port authority, or
labour union.
You must be an adult
Dockside is for people aged 18 or over. Do not use it if you are under 18.
Connect: how it works
A porter has a permanent porter code, printed on a card.
A guest enters that code and gets a private conversation with that porter.
Neither side sees the other's phone number or email address.
Conversations delete themselves 24 hours after the last message. Every message
resets the clock. A message either side chooses to save is kept on that person's own account for twelve months, then deleted.
Reported conversations are kept so we can review them.
Conduct
Do not use Connect to send anything unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexual,
or deceptive. Do not send content involving anyone under 18. Do not impersonate anyone.
Do not use it to spam, advertise, or solicit anything unrelated to porter service.
Either person can block a conversation or report it at any time. Reporting
stops the conversation and preserves it for review. We may suspend or remove any account
for breaking these rules, without notice.
Do not rely on it for anything urgent
Connect is not a safety service and messages are not guaranteed to arrive or to be
read. Do not use Dockside for emergencies. In an emergency, contact terminal staff or
emergency services.
SMS alerts
Porters may opt in to SMS alerts by entering their own mobile number in account
settings. Nobody else can add your number.
Alerts are sent only when a guest messages you. There is no marketing.
Frequency varies with guest activity โ typically a few messages per working day.
Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your responsibilities as a porter
Follow your employer's, terminal's, and union's rules. Dockside does not override them.
Keep your account to yourself. Do not share your sign-in link.
Only enter a phone number that belongs to you.
Anything you write about a guest is your responsibility. Keep it professional.
Accounts and codes
A porter code identifies you and is printed on cards you hand out. If you stop using
Dockside your code is deactivated and never reassigned. We may deactivate a code that is
being misused.
Availability
Dockside is provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any
particular purpose. We may change or withdraw features at any time. To the fullest extent
the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use,
Dockside โ including misdirected luggage, missed sailings, or lost income.
Privacy
See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and how long it
is kept.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing
to use Dockside after a change means you accept it.
