DOCKSIDE · CREW
For the crew of the ships that call at Galveston — the Seafarers Center, how to walk there, where to shop, the road north, and the Dockstore when it opens. Nothing here is for passengers, and nothing here puts a passenger in touch with you.
Address
221 20th Street
Galveston, Texas 77550 — downtown, in The Strand district, a few blocks off Harborside Drive. Free wi-fi, computers, a place to sit down, clothing and other help for seafarers.
Hours
8:00 am – 3:00 pm, every day
Their own posted hours as of Sep 2026 — a couple of listings show slightly different times, so call ahead if you are cutting it close.
A free crew account gets you three things:
Friends across the port — crew on any ship and the porters on the piers. Add someone by their code (crew codes look like PH-BC-7K2M: your country, your initials, four of your own); they accept; then you talk. No phone numbers, kept twelve months.
Your contacts book — the people you meet in your travels, with where you met, their ship, home town and your notes.
Your guest book — private notes on repeat guests and what they like. Search either book by any field.
Center details are as posted by the center itself; please confirm hours with them directly.
